The Set-Up

  1. Playing Surface
Use 2 circular targets 4 feet in diameter and raise them up to 15ft at both opposing sides of the playing surface.
  2. The Mental Spot
After setting up the playing area, set up your mental spot. A mental spot is a circle 10ft in diameter with its centre in the middle of the playing surface. The mental spot is not only where the game begins, but it is also a very important point where players are able to catch the ball in order to gain a mental shot.

Time

  • A full LEET game consists of 3 periods of 15mins each.
  • Each period consists of 3 rounds of 5mins each.
  • There is a 1min break between each round.
  • There is a 15min break between each period.

Starting the Game

A game of LEET starts with the unique LEET Face-off where players fight for possession. 2 players, one from each team, stand back to back in the centre of the mental spot. The referee then places the ball between the shoulder blades of the 2 players. Once the whistle blows, both players may then separate and compete for the ball. The face-off is ended once the ball leaves the mental spot.

During the Game

  • Players try to score points for their teams by shooting the ball at a target.
  • During the game, a player in possession of the ball has up to three steps to aid them in passing or shooting the ball.
  • If a player obtains possession while moving then they may either come to a halt as quickly as possible, in which case they have three steps remaining, or, if they choose to utilize the momentum of their motion, they have those three steps to either pass or shoot the ball.
  • Rotating on a stationary foot does not count as a step.
  • No player may hold the ball for more than five seconds.
  • If the ball is loose on the ground below the knee level, players may use their hands to return the ball to their stick
  • A mental shot is awarded when a player catches a ball thrown by a member of the same team and the catching player has at least one part of one foot within the mental spot.
