The rain took a day off as the sun beamed on the first LEET Hermosa Beach Distance Throw Open this past Saturday. The World Record winner was none other than New Jersey born Kevin Curran who just recently made the move to Cali. The WR holder, Curran, threw a 239 ft and 2inch launch just shy of hitting the crashing waves. Obviously, this record is also the new US Record.

Tracy Sabol set the record for the first women’s WR resulting in a throw of 106ft and 8 inches. Not only are State and City records held, but there are also now National Records made representing Finland and Mexico. Only time will tell as to how long the US will hold the WR, considering the best European throwers were unable to attend the competition.

Plans are already in the making due to growing public demand to bring the LEET Distance Throw Open to Helsinki, Finland in the coming months.
