UCLA and CSUSB Hosts 1st LEET Tournaments!
UCLA hosts 1st Los Angeles Tournament! On November 22nd UCLA hosted the 1st Los Angeles LEET Tournament. Congrats goes out to Team Pike for gaining a victorious win in the final game against the “Secret Agents.” It was 1-1 up to the last round when Pike’s own Robert Ebert came through with the winning goal with only a minute to spare on the clock! Most Valuable Player is awarded to Morad Mostashari aka “Mo” for scoring 10 goals ranking him at the highest scorer of the entire tournament.

Secret Agents vs. Pike 1-2

Overall, the teams participated in a 1-day tournament playing an intense 36 rounds of LEET. In 6 round robin style games, the teams battled to the semi-finals. Team Pike vs. The Secret Agents set off the tournament in the 1st round with The Secret Agents beating out Team Pike with a score of 3 to 2, Preston scoring the winning goal! In the next round, the heat was on between The Bob Bellios Team and The Pulsating Monkeys with Steven diving after the ball out of bounds and jumping over 2-benched players! His enthusiasm showed through with The Pulsating monkeys gaining the victory of 2 to 1. The semifinals were invaded by The Secret Agents vs. The Bob Bellios Team. The “Hot Player” of this round can’t go with out honorable mention, Aaron White scored 7 back to back points setting his team up for semifinal victory of 10 to 6. The semifinals were closed out with Team Pike’s landslide win against The Pulsating Monkeys scoring 8 to 0 making a comeback that would set them up for entering the Finals against The Secret Agents.

Throughout the tournament, 3 top players gained the crowds attention with their consistent delivery. In the first round Morad Mostashari ranked 1st in goals making an impressive 10, Aaron White from “The Secret Agents” made a striking 9 goals with unique sound affects accompanying every one and Bobak Akhavan from “The Bob Bellios Team” came in 3rd with 7 exciting launches.

The Tournament Final came down to the best of the best with The Secret Agents high scoring and Team Pike’s comeback. Although all teams had their way in entertainment, it was the final game that caught the crowd’s eye with brutal defense from The Secret Agents and vicious teamwork from Team Pike. Ultimately, Team Pike took it all, walking away with the victory and making history as the 1st Los Angeles team to win a LEET tournament! Congrats to Pike and LEET wants to thank all players and spectators for making this tournament not only successful, but definitely memorable! Go Bruins!


CSUSB Hosts 1st U.S. LEET Tournament

On November 15th, the U.S. saw the first official U.S. tournament coming straight out of Cal State University San Bernadino! Congrats goes out to Team Greatness for having the victory in the finals against Team High-n-Mighty scoring an impressive 10 to 4. Most Valuable Player is awarded to Corey Sandoval for leading his team to victory in scoring a mass amount of points in the semi-finals and in the final game. He was launching shots all day long making the competitors cringe with every slam on the goal.

All in all, the teams took part in a 1-day tournament battling it out for the title in the first U.S. tournament and can we say “non-contact” sport? The competition got fierce as players sideswiped and blocked mental shots left and right leaving their competitors adrenaline rushing for another chance at the ball. Penetrating the defenses, Team Greatness, in the end rose to the top gaining the title and winning a place in LEET’s history as the 1st winning U.S. Team! Thank you to CSUSB for hosting the tournament and congratulations to all the participating teams in making history! To all the players, we will see you next time.
